HAMPTONS' FAVE: Phoebe Legere
National Radio play for Phoebe’s CD created a thrill and drive for the record that catapulted HEART OF LOVE up the Americana & Roots charts.
HEART OF LOVE is a project crafted from Phoebe Legere’s travels around the country, shaped by the people and the environment she loves so much. The album is a touching, emotional, poignant landscape fashioned from the heart of this poet and modern-day troubadour.
It’s been a banner year for Hamptons' favorite Musician-Artist-Performer.
Phoebe Legere! Phoebe has been dubbed The Artist With Heart, by her fans.
Legere has performed thousands of shows from Country Fairs to NPR, from Folk Festivals to the Pow Wow circuit, from Songwriter Circles to a CBS Sunday Morning feature when she won First Runner-Up in “America’s Hottest Accordionist Contest” in Branson, MO. She has played with Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Billy Joel, Steve Martin and John Hartford among many other notables.
Phoebe Legere’s new Americana CD “Heart of Love” is #18 on the ROOTS Americana chart with praises from NPR’s Nick Noble, who called Heart of Love, "one of the most intriguing, exciting albums I've heard this year."
Celebrity Cafe writes: “She has…fearless…inspiring…artistic integrity." The New York Times compared her to Jerry Lee Lewis, Edith Piaf and Marilyn Monroe.
Ms. Legere has released 12 CDs of original and traditional music available on iTunes and Spotify. Phoebe is now offering limited editions of her artwork at PhoebeLegereArt.com
All proceeds from HEART OF LOVE and Phoebe's artwork will be donated to the Foundation For New American Art, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that Phoebe Legere founded to bring music and art to children in communities where budgets for Arts Education programs have been drastically cut and virtually eliminated.
Says, Legere, “In giving back, we’re becoming more grounded and spiritual. It’s called ‘sharing, and that is how we make a difference. Interacting with people as we work, travel, perform. That helps us become better artists.”
Showcasing her immense musical talents and vocal range, Legere plays seven instruments on the album and wrote all of the 11 songs. HEART OF LOVE is another shining and soaring example of this dynamic performer’s talents.
The composer-songwriter-performer was a favorite of David Bowie’s. Bowie called PHOEBE LEGERE a “trailblazer who is destined to be a global icon” and invited her to open for him on his “Sound & Vision” tour.
PHOEBE LEGERE made history and rose to immense popularity as a teenager with her indie hit MARILYN MONROE that moved quickly to the top of the college charts. Today the legendary song about the film goddess continues to stream and the video remains a YouTube sensation.
HEART OF LOVE solidifies Phoebe Legere as an innovator and architect of the New Americana.
Immediately following, the show, Phoebe is heading north. The energy and buzz of HEART OF LOVE, led Arctic Records to sign Phoebe for an upcoming project of French music.
ABOUT PHOEBE LEGERE:
PHOEBE LEGERE is a composer, artist, filmmaker, arranger, songwriter, singer and performer on piano, accordion, guitar, cello, Native American flute, and synthesizer. She works across genres and art forms.

Interview Magazine called her “ a genius.” “Often copied, never equaled, Phoebe Legere is a transmedia virtuoso force who zaps the listener into a new reality. Legere personifies the divine feminine; her multi-octave voice has been compared to Edith Piaf, Aretha Franklin and Maria Callas...Legere is a nuclear, spinning, multi-dimensional, creative force NOT TO BE MISSED.”
Provincetown Magazine said "Phoebe shines: A soprano with a five octave range, Queen Phoebe, plays both piano and accordion like nothing you have ever witnessed before, she sings as well and is a radiant presence with all her gifts on dazzling display in her outrageous new show, Shakespeare and Elizabeth"
