![]() Indian Wells Tavern, a favorite pub for locals in Amagansett, has announced it is closing. In their Facebook statement, Indian Wells announced: “After 12 incredible years, Saturday, February 29th will be our final night of business. The restaurant has been sold and new owners will be launching a new restaurant. We wish the new owners the best and look forward to supporting them upon opening. We are incredibly thankful to all of our staff, customers and friends who have supported us over the years. You can visit us at either of our Bostwick’s locations this spring, Bostwick’s Chowder House or Bostwick’s on the Harbor.” The Tavern has been a preferred gathering place for sports events, celebrations and parties throughout its tenure on Main Street. Highway Restaurant & Bar in East Hampton announced the acquisition of the restaurant space. Highway Restaurant & Bar is a member of the TOMS Hospitality portfolio, that includes Manhattan’s Eleven Madison Park, Loring Place, Charlie Bird, and Shuko. The new owners say they plan to refresh the décor but plan is to keep the tavern style. The menu will “honor many local favorites and will be executed with fresh ingredients and the high standards of cuisine for which Highway is known. Patrons will still be able to watch their favorite teams on the bar televisions, have a pre-Talkhouse cocktail they have always loved, or enjoy a delicious and easy meal at the bar or in the dining room.” Plans are to open in early summer 2020. Comments are closed.
