For the second time in over 300 years, the Village of East Hampton will have a street fair! Look for over 50 booths lining Newtown Lane on Mother’s Day Weekend Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at which local artists, shopkeepers and over 30 non-profits – including the Pollock-Krasner House, the East End Children’s Museum,
We'll be bringing it to you live on facebook! Hamptons International Film Festival (selling rare movie posters), the East Hampton YMCA, East Hampton Historical Society and East Hampton Trails Preservation Society – can display their wares and information. There will be a Main Street Stage featuring live music all day – from bluegrass to folk to rock n roll. Hampton Free Ride will be providing shuttle service from John Marshall Elementary School parking lot too. There’ll be plenty of activities for kids including a KIDZONE featuring a climbing wall, jumping castle, face painters, arts and crafts and more. In addition, Golden Eagle Arts will be providing a free “Make a Mother’s Day Card” station on the lawn of Eileen Fisher. Food Court, Yoga … and Sidewalk Sales! New this year is a food court featuring lobster rolls, shrimp po-boys, BBQ from Townline BBQ, hand-made fried gourmet wantons, wood-fired pizza, homemade beef jerky from Greenport Jerky, homemade pickles from Perfect Pickle, handmade chocolates, baked goods and premade sandwiches and salads from Mary’s Marvelous and handmade pretzels! Beverages will be handled by Sam’s Beverages and village restaurants will also be offering local craft beverages. Yoga and stretch classes will be held on the lawn of Eileen Fisher on Newtown Lane. This year visitors will enjoy a sidewalk sale component whereby businesses on Newtown Lane and Main Street will be able to have sidewalk sales! Look for the Ladies Village Improvement Society, Guild Hall and other businesses to offer sale merchandise. Sponsored by the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, Ringel states, “It’s a true community event to celebrate Spring, as well as to showcase our wonderful businesses and organizations.” Village eateries will also be open all day and offering specials.
